Today we are surrounded by harmful dyes, carcinogens, pesticides, and genetically modified foods. This is why stores offer organic options to help eliminate some of the harmful chemicals and cancer causing dyes from our food. However, a main concern of these organic goods is the price. Organic foods are relatively more expensive and the same goes for dog treats. Instead of throwing your money away dumping loads of cash into overpriced dog treats, try these recipes that will save you money and keep your dog’s gut healthy.
Save Your OverRipe Bananas!:
All you need for these treats is a couple of bananas and peanut butter!
The first thing you want to do is mush up your over ripe bananas and then mix them with peanut butter.
Next you want to lay them on a baking sheet in whatever design you would like, my preference is round easy circles.
Then finally you bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
It will come out looking like this:

Having Bad Breath Problems?:
We all know dogs can not use their paws to brush their teeth or scrub their tongue!
With these fresh minty treats, your dog will feel clean and you can go back to snuggling with your dog without pulling away.
Your first step is to gather oats, eggs, water, coconut oil, parsley, and mint.
Then is the best part where you combine everything in a blender until combined fully.
Finally, you just mold the treats into whatever shape you would like and bake at 250F for 20 minutes!
Once baked it should look something like this:

Who Doesn't Like Donuts?:
Everyone loves donuts and I think it is time to spoil your dog with this donut recipe!
Step 1:
½ cup milk
½ cup creamy peanut butter (natural peanut butter with no added sugar or salt is best for dogs)*
1 large egg
2 Tbsp honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 slices bacon, crisply cooked and chopped
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a standard donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, peanut butter, egg, and honey until combined.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until incorporated.
Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the chopped bacon.
Fill the cavities of the prepared pan with the batter until ⅔ full. Then evenly spread the batter using an offset spatula.
Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until slightly puffed and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, then take the donuts out of the pan and allow to cool completely before glazing.

Vegetables Can Also Be Used!:
Fruits and vegetables can also be used in your dog treats!
Just make sure you check your dog for allergies before feeding them fruit or vegetables you are unsure of.
First off to make these fruit and vegetable snacks you want to gather these:
1 sweet potato, cooked
1 banana
1 cup carrots, minced
1/2 cup applesauce
2 cups white or whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup water
Then you need to:
Mash the sweet potato and banana together well. Add the rest of the ingredients. Roll out on a floured board 1/8 inch thick. With a pizza cutter, cut into strips and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. When finished it should be cooled off in the refrigerator until it is cool enough for them to snack on.

Benefits of Doing This:
Making your own dog treats is very simple and rewarding! It will also protect them from the harmful ingredients I mentioned in my previous blog post!
